Par worked SO hard today. He worked on his eating and did very well (although, it is still far from being "mastered"). We also spent some time on breastfeeding--again, he did well and didn't get as upset and frustrated as he has before. I could definitely see progress which is reassuring. I "practiced" breastfeeding on my own today (without Elaine) which was hard but it was good that Par and I could just try it out by ourselves.
Par took lots of little cat naps today--when he was wide awake, I put him in his swing and he loved it--and of course, 10 minutes into it--he fell asleep for a LONG time. We had a lot of visitors (nurses) who came over to see Par and talk to him--he is so alert when he is awake and he looks like he could have a conversation--isn't it precious how he raises his eyebrows and his little forehead wrinkles!
Par's fetanyl has been weaned even more and his "pretend food" was also weaned and his NJ feed (breastmilk) was upped--he'll possibly be on full breastmilk feeds by sometime next week--and then MAYBE we can get rid of the PICC line.
Today was also heavy--I ask that you will continue to pray for Par's friend Jonathan as he continues his fight. Please continue to send up prayers for Jasmine--we ask that God will shower her with peace as she continues on this journey--our only certainty is God's love--I pray that Jasmine can find comfort in His arms and strength in His Word.
We continue to thank our Father for the gifts of Jonathan, Ella and Par. May they continue to progress in His time. May we find peace in knowing that He knows what is best for us.
Thank you for your prayers for Par and his friends--I can't imagine this journey without each one of you--I've said it before--we feel each prayer.

Uh Oh Liz he really looks like his daddy in the last picture. Still praying for each new miracle every day. Allison
Yes, we love those forehead wrinkles. Cute as a bug!! We think it makes him look very wise for his age!!! If he had a monocle he might pass for a distinguished college professor! He looks like he might just begin a lecture in a couple of the pics...minus the pacifier, of course!

Loved yesterday's post about the stretching--something I've always loved to watch in babies. Love, too, the bright eyed pictures of Par. Makes me want to snuggle with him now that all the grandchildren are too big for this.
Our prayers continue for Par and his friends.
Peace,
Anne & Bob
