Saturday Night in the NICU
There was a terrible accident in the NICU last night--when they were giving each baby the nightly dusting of cuteness they accidentally dumped the entire bucket on Par--and look what happened! I almost fainted when I saw how absolutely adorable he looked this morning. We feel just awful--to think of all the little babies who didn't get their nightly dusting! Oh well...
The nurses all comment how social and interactive Par is during the morning. We see him wide awake a lot of the time--but I've never seen him "socializing"--well, not until this afternoon when the nurse practitioner was walking by--sweet little Par gave a wave and said, "Hey Nurse Jenn"--I was shocked--seriously, it is difficult for me to keep all the nurses names straight.
As you may have figured out, not much has happened "new" with regards to Par and his recovery. He is plugging along--eating, burping, pooing, crying, loving, semi-smiling--all normal baby things. Hopefully his bottle feeds will be upped tomorrow and his NJ feeds decreased. He is still "standing" when I hold him--he loves to push up and back with his skinny little legs. Our nurse today advised that we should start putting things in front of his face to work on grabbing and hand coordination. We tried a couple of different toys without much luck so we have taped a picture of Ella to all of his toys and now he grabs them without any problem--I guess he REALLY misses her.
I saw Tina and Josh briefly today--I hope Ella is doing better today. We also saw John (Jayden's dad) and it seems that Jayden is doing really well--I bet he's in the NICU 2 before we know it.
We continue to be thankful for all of the prayers--especially during this holiday season.
Love,
Liz, Rusty & Par

he is just soooooooooooooooooo cute.
It is wonderful to see such an adorable face first thing in the morning. We are so addicted to Par's blog that we have to see and read about him before we can do anything else. Have another great day today. Love and Blessings, Jim and Sheila
Hey guys! We hope Par has a feast of a day. We are so happy that he is eating so well. He will absolutely be a chunky monkey in a couple of months. One day you'll just look down and a little chunk o'cheeks will be lookin' back at yah!
Have a good day!
leslee and family
ps- go heels!
Goodness, I didn't think he could look anymore like his Daddy but he does with each passing day. Deja vu - I was there, of course, when Rusty looked like this little munchkin! He had 2 "pacys" (sp?) - one in his mouth and one in his hand - this, naturally, was when he was a wee bit older than Par. He periodically traded the two, with a loud resounding sucking noise as he removed the one from his little lips - cow-pulling-foot-out-of-mud-type sound! About 10 mins. later - retrade! Eventually, though, Santa's elves took all the "pacys" and he somehow survived.
Go little buddy, you're doing GREAT!
Love to all,
Aunt Judy in NC
Par, the same thing happened to your cousin Elizabeth when she was in the NICU. All of the cute dust landed on her too! The staff needs to be careful. It's just not fair to everyone else! Love, Bess
