The Exploder

I do not need to elaborate on the title of this blog--only to say that Par is eating well and this really is his nickname from the nurses. We apologize to all the nurses.

Dr. Kays visited Par EARLY this morning. Apparently, our nurse had stepped out and another nurse was keeping an eye on Par. The story we heard was that Par was awake and fussing (probably screaming bloody murder) and Dr. Kays walked up to the bed and said, "What's going on Par" and Par immediately stopped crying. The nurse thought it was so amazing how Dr. Kays can have that affect on a little baby--Rusty and I aren't surprised--we continually tell Par how Dr. Kays saved his life and to be respectful of him--hearing this story makes us proud parents. Aside from that little story--we have no idea what else happened when Dr. Kays visited the bedside because nothing had been changed on any settings and there we no new written orders...we think he just stopped in to check on Par--rumor has it that he's out of town this week.

Par has found a way to keep in touch with Ella since she is on the other side of the NICU now--he fell asleep while texting.

Today has been just like yesterday--lots of eating! He still gets so mad when he's hungry and he doesn't get his food fast enough. He did excellent breastfeeding and took his bottle like a champ! We tried to capture the growl--but of course, with the camera right there he was a perfect little boy and never growled....not until Rusty put the camera away. He continues to progress (he even looked like he grew a little bit last night)--we are just so thankful. We praise God for our miracle.

This is Par being burped...not so interesting...but check out creepy monkey foot creeping out from under his little night shirt.

Today is Tina's birthday, so the five of us went out to celebrate--it was a nice dinner with lots of laughter--perfect evening with our friends. Mom (my mom) got to hold Ella today--she was so excited (she's been wanting to hold her ever since we got here)--when I asked her how it was she replied, "Ella loves her mama!"

Thank you for your prayers...we miss everyone!

Love,
Liz, Rusty & Par

Par you are beautiful! I hope you get to go home for Christmas, but I know your girlfriend Ella would be so sad without you. You look like such a big boy now! I guess it's all the eating! I can't wait to meet you! Love, Bess
